Detroit’s Tiny Jag is a rapper, singer/songwriter known for conveying relevant messages throughout her music. One of her most consistent; the empowerment of women. Recently, Tiny Jag released a vibrant visual to her single ‘Bizarre,’ challenging the traditional story of creation and Adam and Eve.
Tiny Jag on her intentions with the ‘Bizarre’ Music Video:
“We hear about Eve’s shortcomings at a very young age. Many of us are influenced by that to view women as inadequate before we can even understand what we’re digesting. I wanted to challenge that narrative and give its followers a bit of a hard time.”
Shortly after releasing the controversial video via YouTube, Tiny Jag and team began to push the visual for support and promotion. Among these attempts were numerous tries with Facebook (also owning/controlling Instagram). After every tweaked attempt fell short of approval, Tiny Jag realized the concept and message of her work may be what was truly denied.
Tiny Jag on being censored as a woman:
“So I knew we weren’t going to get support for the video if it had cursing or discriminatory lyrics, I avoided those things.  The track/visual do not discuss, promote, or demonstrate sexual acts, no nudity. I mean, it’s a bit out of the box but to censor me for anything short of those things seems discriminatory in itself. I can’t help but believe that it’s an attack against what it represents.”

Big Gov & Pierre Anthony - “No Love”

From one of the most impactful award-winning albums out of Detroit in recent times “Betrayal” comes some brand new visuals for one of my personal standouts “No Love“. Big Gov & Pierre Anthony be on some sorta peanut butter & jelly combo of hip-hop havoc when they join forces so it was definitely dope to get some top-notch visuals to aid such a fantastic record. D’juan Graves was the mind behind the lens that provided this excellent vision, shout out to all the directors out there capturing creatively! Big Gov’s album “Betrayal” featuring “No Love” is out now everywhere. If you’ve been sleeping, well… it’s time to wake your ass up from that nap & press play!
