BEWARE – Positive Influence (BEAT TAPE)

Published

The busy producer has been shining throughout 2019 with recent productions & it's nice to get a solo dive into the beat makers work with "Positive Influence".

In a follow up to his 2017 effort “Woodward Ave” prominent Detroit area producer BEWARE graces us with some brand instrumental gold. Rocking some of the dopest artwork I’ve seen this year with the thrift store vinyl reminiscent cover BEWARE carries us across a nine song journey with a quick listening session via “Positive Influence“.  It’s a proton project in the sense that the overall vibes are very “positive” and I had an enjoyable cruise thru the mellow baps & building grooves. With this latest iteration, it’s not entirely instrumental as we get some welcomed features dropping in throughout the twenty-one record collection. My personal favorite is the heavy hitting combination of Nate Paulson & Marv Won on “Detroit Ballet“, a fitting title that comes roughly after the halfway point of Volume 5Zev Howling & Monsoon each lend a hand on separate tracks respectively, placed in-between a fantastic batch of sounds that range from lo-fi & relaxing to the perfect video game background music. “Fire Escape” was my top pick outside of “Detroit Ballet” and though it arrives late there was a lot of contention before it in this smooth & enjoyable volume of music from Mark Cooper.

With some brand new instrumental flavor for your ears comes “Why Would You Splash Me?“. Twenty four samples of sounds via Detroit producer Eddie Logix. A spacey sorta lo-fi mixture that bridges a hip hop slash electronic vibe the project moves fast through a diverse set of sounds. Listen through & take in for yourself below. The project also was lent a helping hand with Charlie Beans mixing the beat tape. Enjoy!
