November 24 premium cannabis brand Viola, founded by NBA veteran Al Harrington hosted a Heartsgiving turkey giveaway event in partnership with The Detroit Rappers Organization owned by Icewear Vezzo of Motown Records.

Waves of Detroit locals flooded the historic Hart Plaza, where the quartet of hosts and 313 volunteers banded together to connect with the city’s attendees, while small bites and hot chocolate were served at Spirit Plaza across the street.

The turkey giveaway event precludes Viola’s first official flagship store coming to the city of Detroit, which officially opens today. The grand opening marks the beginning of Viola establishing a national retail footprint with two more retail locations in California set to open in the second quarter of 2020. A 40,000 sq. ft processing and distribution center inside the Viola Provision Center is set to debut the first quarter of 2020.

I’m the Rapper, She’s the DJ
Rap is not an all-boys sport and never has been. Piper Carter of the Piper Carter
Podcast and We Found Hip-hop is bringing out a set of performances that will deliver an
all-woman hip-hop show you want to feel. We Found Hip-hop is the organization that is
grounded in offering the five elements of hip-hop for women using social justice and
equity as the platform to stand on.

Boog Brown, Frankie P, and Ideeyah headline the “I’m the Rapper, She’s the DJ”
showcase Saturday October 26, 2019 at 8pm at the Andy Arts. This event is part of the
inaugural Detroit is Different Festival which will highlight Detroit culture.

The performance will be anchored by Piper Carter who will be performing as DJ Peace
Pipe to keep the vibes flowing and a party going. Expect to hear it all from Rapsody to
Mc Lyte, Queen Latifah, and Jean Grae. Giving the audience a call to action to
experience an all-woman hip-hop show built in strength and creativity is an experience
that many never have witnessed.

Boog Brown and Frankie P are emcees that are wielding every mic they touch. The call
and response, bounce, and style of Boog Brown’s show is rich. Her soulful touch on hip-
hop captures the back-packer appeal with the intellect of a modern flow. Frankie P is an
electronic, soul, and experimental sound with beats that need to be heard. Her show is
an experience you don’t want to miss. I’m the Rapper, She’s the DJ will be headlined by
Ideeyah which is epic. There is no way to capture her music, flair, and appeal … but
witnessing the show is essential for all hip-hop fans.
