Detroit’s Middle Finger Music and New York’s The Walkers have been generating quite a buzz for themselves giving rise to national recognition in the underground scene. These two powerhouse crews have come together for Ketch P’s newest banger “Middle Finger Trophies” featuring Rim & Bubba Rock. The track is produced by MFM’s Blizzard who brings a his familiar soul inspired soundtrack layered perfectly over powder keg style drums. Ketch starts the track off with his signature steady paced in the pocket flow. The Detroit veteran issues an imposing declaration packed with raw bars, slick wordplay, and rough edged references. Up next is Bubba Rock who pitches ego damaging schemes and elastic imagery submerging you fully into his words in an almost threatening manner. Finishing the track off is Rim. Rim’s eye for detail translates into his words as he consumes the beat comfortably spitting out only the raw and uncut real in confident and imposing manner. These three emcees complement one another in seamless fashion leaving no room for filler rhymes while raising the bar from start to finish earning them their well deserved Middle Finger Trophies.
Courtney Bell – Poverty Stricken
It’s been less than 48 hours since the release, yet its impact feels impending. I’m gonna need to let the music soak in over the next few weeks, but first impressions – “Poverty Stricken” is an artist defining album. Courtney Bell has been verbally supplying his message for some time now, and it all comes together for this fantastic journey into his mind & thoughts. Articulate in the way Courtney Bell is able to paint pictures well driving you forward into deep listening to decipher what he is truly saying here. It’s deep, backed with powerful production including a track I was glad to see make it on as a bonus. “PSA” featuring production from Grammy award-winning producer !llmind finishes the fifteen song album off perfectly.
Long before you reach track fifteen though you travel a riveting path amongst the Detroit native’s metaphors & vivid verses. From the album artwork style lyric video above for the opening “GB4“, the structured storytelling of “1994/Dealer“, to other standouts such as “Garment” feat. Reason & “25 Hours” where we hear him speak on the risks and struggles of pursuing dreams. Off first impressions, I feel this will be in heavy rotation for some time to come indeed & that this album will unravel exciting new chapters for the artist.
Take in the entire album for yourself and enjoy the newest music from Courtney Bell.

AGiLE SOCiETY – NOT TODAY
The moment I heard “Not Today” for the first time I was immediately drawn in. It soaks up the feeling of needing to be alone in your own space at times, a perfect analogy disguised behind wearing AirPods to avoid contact as you walk onward in your day. I swear somehow, someway Apple needs to see this! You know! This beautifully crafted video directed by BiLLY FAMOUS, and HEAR what not only garnered “GOLDEN RATiO“, a top album I featured on my top 50 list in 2019, but also happened to be one of my favorite cuts from that very album! Now with a brand new video to provide such an impactful song justice as you enter a sonic zone of appearing away, that we might all relate to at some level upon a tumultuous 2020. “Not Today” by AGiLE SOCiETY is one of those songs that you can go back to over and over and over.
Mark Cooper, Fatt Father, Hatch Freestyle Over Blizzard Live From Detroit at Mix Studio One
Three beasts with bars put on for World Emcee with a freestyle filmed live from Mix Studio One in Detroit, MI. Detroit’s nerdcore rap aficionado Mark Cooper kicks things off in a bout of three stellar verses from three versatile emcees who delivering their own unique take. Fatt Father brandishes the second offering amongst the three and finishes with a powerful statement that sums his verse up well, “my thoughts weigh a couple hundred pounds“. Hatch hit’s the fly on Mike Pence’s head as he twists and bends the ends to this outstanding Blizzard production that all three of these talented artists help do justice in a powerful way.
