JunesFlow Celebrates Detroit Dance Culture on New Album “Long Live Jit”.

Published

on

The best way to go down as a legend in your city is to do what has never been done,
and that is exactly what JunesFlow is up to on the first project of its kind, “Long Live Jit”. The speaker knocking, second single and title track off the project, “Long Live Jit” gets into the undeniable appeal of The Jitterbug, aka The Jit, which is a legendary dance primarily done to Detroit Techno-Music that has spanned the decades.

The album was released through WhatUpDoe Radio June 1st, 2018, with all production handled by Mark Cooper, with the exception of the Desmond “Dj DDT” Travis-produced “Long Live Jit”. In addition to being the first project of its kind, “Long Live Jit” has the details down to a science as well. From the history lesson to the precise way all songs are engineered to be 3 minutes and 13 seconds long, as an homage to Detroit’s area code (313), “Long Live Jit” will be that project people from around the globe will visit and revisit to get a taste of Detroit. Proving you don’t have to be from a location to enjoy and understand its culture.

The “Long Live Jit” album, available on all major streaming outlets on June 1, 2018.
A limited quantity of vinyls will be available soon after, plus an instrumental release.

Killz Korner Ty Farris

Published

This week we are ft.Ty Farris with his project “Room 39 part 2” and the group Street Life who are the hottest in the city right now.

Ty has hit the streets hard with “Room 39 Part 2″. ( available at https://tyfarris.com/ ). This is hard hitting street music. I am very involved in the Detroit Music scene and I am here to tell you that Ty has earned his stripes and deserves the accolade of one of Detroit’s best artist. The eastside native has created his own lane and with his producer Trox have provided some griity music to get through a gritty life. This music is a perfect soundtrack of what hood life is about.
Room 39 is 11 tracks of substance, an attribute that is missing from most music that is thrown together nowadays. The mixing and mastering of the songs are excellent and Farris delivers blow after blow of outstanding lyricism and thought provoking punchlines.

I came into this review with my Big Proof ears on and I must say that I am over impressed with the album delivered to my music buzz. with lines like ” I don’t migrate with fly weights, since 98 around niggas that buy weight”. Lines like this stick out to me because if you are from Detroit there is some chance that you have sold drugs before, even if by association. This is just facts. These types of rhymes along with the gritty beats provided by Trox give the perfect soundtrack to a hood adventure.

My fav tracks are “Please Don’t overdose”, “Came a long Way” ft LIL Fame of MOP and 38 Spesh, and my favorite track is “Say my name” which takes me back to the Purple Gang days.

It’s time for me to leave a rating, and I must say that I am biased as a review because I know this mufaka personally. He is actually this asshole on the songs in real life. So for that to be the case its hard for me not to grade his album even harder than I would the average emcee, and i still have to give him 4 and 1/2 tokes. This is good music and I must say that i am proud to announce that Ty Farris is bringing the fire that the streets need in the city of Detroit, Eastside stand up, the boy did something for y’all.

Killz Korner rating 4 1/2 tokes.

The album has been available since July 26th, 2019, and make sure you add it to workout playlist.

Killz Korner with “Pariis Noel”

Pariis Noel Beautifully Flawed

New artist are the pulse of the music scene and some artist aren’t new but the music is. I Love to hear new music and will post and rate new artist and their projects or singles and rate them with an unbiased ear. If you now me, you know I indulge in the fine arts of Marijuana culture and will rate the music according to tokes of a spliff with 5 tokes being the highest accolade that an artist can receive from the Killz Korner.

Today we will review Pariis Noel and Maya Jones.

Ima start with Pariis Noel today and his project Beautifully Flawed. Let me start by saying dawg can flatout rap. his rhyme skillz are easily displayed with a monotone voice attached to gritty lyrics. There are 3 singles available right now as well as the full length project with “Too Busy Living” being my favorite of the 3 songs I was sent to listen to.When it comes to lyrics this guy does not have a problem at all, but what I find is when the artist is talented lyrically, they do the Nas effect. They choose some of the most basic beats. When Pariis meets with a producer who wants to take music to the next level, he will be on his way as one of the best to do it from the Mitten.

Overall the project is a nice project and gives the listener a deep venture into the life and mind of Parris Noel.

Killz Korner rating. 3 1/2 tokes.

Valid - "Mihajlo" + Release Party on May 11th at Underground @ DIME

This Saturday at Underground @ DIME join Valid for the release party behind what I can honestly say is one of my favorite full-lengths to drop in 2019. I’ve had a bit of time to soak in all that is “Mihajlo” and although I want to spend a little more time before dropping my formal review I can definitely say off early impressions that it’s quite a fantastic project.  The eleven songs that grace “Mihajlo” take you on a personal journey in getting to know Valid on a deeper level in a powerful and cohesive way.  The minimal features fit in perfectly such as Elzhi, Mahogany Jones, DJ Los, & Aaron Taylor among others providing their talents in an effective way. I’ll have my full review of the project here in the next couple weeks but besides that this Saturday, you can take in “Mihajlo” live as you celebrate alongside Valid himself plus star-studded performances via Clear Soul Forces, Supa Emcee, & A Minus. Preview the album above & come out this Saturday, May 11th at 9 PM for “The Mihajlo Album Release Party” at 1265 Griswold, Detroit, MI. $10 ENTRY.
