From hiatus to heat rocks, Marquise Porter teams with Saint Denson to combine as emcee/producer duo DOPE BOY FRESH. Where You Been” brings in a Scarface sound bite as the two hop in the ride and depart to the studio ready to unleash a banger of their mashed up abilities. Josh Sport – “Black Do Crack”

Josh Sport - "Black Do Crack"

Dealing with a powerful message can be a difficult task for many artists, however, Josh Sport handles that very challenge effortlessly with his brand new single “Black Do Crack“. Tackling America’s crack epidemic comes his lyrical perspective from first-hand experience dealing inside of an environment that has been all too real for too many. The bouncy beat & Josh Sport’s fluid bars captivate and even though I’m not one to compare artists often I definitely got some earlier years Jay-Z type vibes with the production/delivery in which has been presented. A banger with replay value is a great quick description of what we have here and I’m definitely adding Josh Sport to the radar. – COMMi$$ION

Here’s a message from Josh Sport’s Soundcloud page itself breaking down the record.

A young Black males outlook on greed, materialism, drug dealing, Black on Black violence, guilt, and aspirations. Speaking from one who was born at the height of America’s crack epidemic, growing up and seeing it affects firsthand and eventually taking part as a dealer himself. This banger balances hard drums, grungey flows, and witty rhymes about crack cocaine and “cracking” under pressure. There are even references to Africa’s war on blood diamonds and how it is seen from the perspective of a young Black American male.

FROSTisRAD – “Cold Heart”

FROSTisRAD - "Cold Heart"

I’ll admit I’m no fan of spiders… Yet if anyone can get me to listen to a spider adorned single FROSTisRAD is that artist. I’ve been keeping my ears on the Detroit area creator for some time as he continues to drop gem after gem. As I grow closer to my second full decade in curating & participating in the industry one thing I’ve come to look for in artists is someone who is able to define their sound in a way that it’s instantly recognizable. FROSTisRAD is one of those artists. His sound is his own & his voice is unique enough to know it’s him as soon as you hear it. “Cold Heart” is no exception as a mixture of singing, screaming, and emceeing take turns as the record builds and builds. A rockstar in his own right with more music on the way, in the meantime, take in the glory of his latest above.

Borderline – Breathless (feat. One Be Lo & Cloudy Uchiha)

This right here. This is the type of hip-hop that can leave the truest fans “Breathless“. This very song, titled just that is riddled with a trio of exponential lyricism. I’ve long respected & enjoyed the crafts of One Be Lo & Cloudy Uchida but excuse me for this being my first run-in with Borderline. It ran well. Three emcees in the truest form represent polished lyricism here & the repetition of “Every time I breathe I’m brushing death off my sleeve…” really tied it all together for me as I took in a good five or so listens of this record well I write these words. I’ve lived for getting lost in records since a young age & these are the types I can find myself lost in.
