Boogie has been making a name for himself at a faster than ever rate. The Shady Records artist continues to deliver powerful records that meld his singing and rapping in a magnificent way that’s packed with substance. With his latest “Silent Ride” we get something to sink our ears into well waiting for a much anticipated follow up full-length to 2016’s eye-opening “Thirst 48, Pt. II“. Battling with the voices inside his mind Boogie carries us through it all with precise imagery that stands out distinctly with his unique delivery that has become instantly recognizable upon a thorough listen of his existing catalog. I’m truly looking forward to hearing more from Boogie throughout 2019!

I’ve included the lyrics to “Silent Ride” if you feel like reading along well you listen a few times. Enjoy!

Lyrics:
Out of sight but, out of mind yea
I can’t lie I’m detached I need guidance
I been dying, I been fighting
God this voice in my mind won’t be quiet Silent ride home, Silent ride
Silent ride home, Silent ride
Silent ride home

I got all these voices in my head, got too many bitches in my bed
I don’t store the number just instead
I start scrollin through the text and look for pictures in the thread
I’m on your head you only banging cause of streamin ain’t ya, ain’t ya You only gang when it’s convenient ain’t ya, ain’t ya

Ignore the grade from every teacher I was throwin up the B while I was trynna get Jamesha Who am I

Out of mind yea
I can’t lie I’m detached I need guidance
I been dying, I been fighting
God this voice in my mind won’t be quiet Silent ride home, Silent ride
Silent ride home, Silent ride
Silent ride home

I love to lie I’m extra’d out, know I’m wrong but let me slide
If I ain’t right before I rise tell the world I’m dead inside
The ride was long I slept for 5, she got my phone I’m petrified
She read my text, I read her mind, pressin time and dead my high
Connect (connect to live) express your mind, how we should talk more
Know that that’s a lost war, she gone take the aux cord, and let it play her thoughts for her And she gone play them throwbacks and hold back, pretend to be lit

No cap I need an energy shift

Out of sight but, out of mind yea
I can’t lie I’m detached I need guidance
I been dying, I been fighting
God this voice in my mind won’t be quiet

Silent ride home, Silent ride Silent ride home, Silent ride Silent ride home

Courtney Bell – Poverty Stricken

Published

on

It’s been less than 48 hours since the release, yet its impact feels impending. I’m gonna need to let the music soak in over the next few weeks, but first impressions – “Poverty Stricken” is an artist defining album. Courtney Bell has been verbally supplying his message for some time now, and it all comes together for this fantastic journey into his mind & thoughts. Articulate in the way Courtney Bell is able to paint pictures well driving you forward into deep listening to decipher what he is truly saying here. It’s deep, backed with powerful production including a track I was glad to see make it on as a bonus. “PSA” featuring production from Grammy award-winning producer !llmind finishes the fifteen song album off perfectly.

Long before you reach track fifteen though you travel a riveting path amongst the Detroit native’s metaphors & vivid verses. From the album artwork style lyric video above for the opening “GB4“, the structured storytelling of “1994/Dealer“, to other standouts such as “Garment” feat. Reason & “25 Hours” where we hear him speak on the risks and struggles of pursuing dreams. Off first impressions, I feel this will be in heavy rotation for some time to come indeed & that this album will unravel exciting new chapters for the artist.

Take in the entire album for yourself and enjoy the newest music from Courtney Bell.

AGiLE SOCiETY – NOT TODAY

Published

The moment I heard “Not Today” for the first time I was immediately drawn in. It soaks up the feeling of needing to be alone in your own space at times, a perfect analogy disguised behind wearing AirPods to avoid contact as you walk onward in your day. I swear somehow, someway Apple needs to see this! You know! This beautifully crafted video directed by BiLLY FAMOUS, and HEAR what not only garnered “GOLDEN RATiO“, a top album I featured on my top 50 list in 2019, but also happened to be one of my favorite cuts from that very album! Now with a brand new video to provide such an impactful song justice as you enter a sonic zone of appearing away, that we might all relate to at some level upon a tumultuous 2020. “Not Today” by AGiLE SOCiETY is one of those songs that you can go back to over and over and over.
