Getting to know Tae Envy "Wetter"
Javontae Darnell King was born December 20, 1995 in Detroit, Michigan. Javontae grew up in a single parent household with 1 older brother and 3 younger sisters. His father died in 2005 from a shooting on Detroit's east side. After his fathers death, the family moved to Alabama for 2 years. He would find his brother battle rapping on the house phone and took interest. His brother, Giovanni, ended up going to prison for 32 years in 2011. Rapping was the only way Javontae could feel closer to his brother in his absence.Javontae started having behavior issues in high school which led to him going to an all boys alternative school, on Detroit west side. Eventually he saved enough money to buy his own studio equipment. After graduation, Javontae got accepted into Henry Ford College, with recording production as a minor. He started recording and mixing his own songs, but knew it wasn’t the best it could be. The first studio Javontae did a full track in was parallel sounds studios in Sterling Heights mi. His first song ever released was “Plays”, but he’s known for “Take It Off”, Garnering over 200,000 views on YouTube. Javontae started singing in 2020, motivated by his friends and family without any vocal training. Some Of his musical inspirations are Chris Brown, Tory Lanez, Kevin McCall , and others.
