“Pardon me if you feel away” when asked about the title of the 6 song Ep from Dame Black and Project Logic “The albums title is a sort of finger in the eye of critics who seem to have the opinion that lyrics in todays hip hop are the least valued part, while also apologizing for being “Away” as when artist lock in “Album mode” they kinda put everything else on the back burner and become singularly focused.”
When listening to artist that puts a sense of pride in the lyrics, titles for songs are important. What stood out is the different points of view that each artist expressed in relation to the titles. While Dame delivered tales of the life and thoughts of man earing a living off the streets, Logic give you a birds eye view of everything else going on in the hood.
Tracks that stood out on a solid Ep were “Charades” produced by Aaron Green, Sunset Vibe {feat IMONLYMOOK) and Goodbye both produced by Street Gang. Production on the project is rounded out by TruDaTRUth on Exhale which is the first visual and Pee The Producer with the dope sample take on Know Love. The entire project was completed in 6 days, recorded at “Big Will Legacy Studios with Keith “Bubby” Webb handling the majority of the sessions with contributions from “Frank Jay” . mixed and mastered by “Mags” for The Disk recording studios.
