Mark Cooper "Green Light" New Music

It was 2011, a NO BS at the bullfrog show promoted by KK Produxtions “Killz”. As the house Dj for this artist showcase series i saw hundreds of acts hit that stage. The one thing about “Killz” is he won’t hold you up, as a gifted emcee himself, Killz is going to let you know about your performance. Good or bad, everyone in the venue was going to know what he thought

Mark Cooper’s name was called and coming to the stage was a average looking guy who i was not expecting to see on the stage. Cool guy, but did not seem to comfortable in the moment. The performance didn’t go off the greatest as Killz cut the set short. I did not know Mark but felt bad nonetheless. Come to find out it was one of his first live performances. I did not see Mark again on a No BS show, can’t say i would have came back either, it was a ruff moment, but when you look at where MARK COOPER is today you can not help but feel like you are witnessing a champions story.

The next time i remember crossing paths, and to be honest when i met him again i did not put 2 and 2 together with the No BS performance, this event was a producer beat battle i was throwing. Over the years we have had a few waves of producers that have came thru my battles. Mark Cooper became a pillar amongst the second wave of beat makers that made the scene what it is today.

Marks sound was not the typical music you heard coming from alot of the Detroit producers. Mark dealt with samples that were familiar to us all, but not the classic throwback records of years past. Mark used snippets from old sitcoms and video games and built dope beats around that. Mark became a champion after perfecting his sound and consistency in showing up. Anyone that knows mark knows his passion for the things some would consider Nerdy.

“The difference between Mark Cooper and the many who have traveled the road of Nerdcore is that he’s sustained his placement in the music industry, sharing the stage with artists such as MC Lars, Mystery Skulls,Shingo2, Mc Frontalot, Sammus,Essenger,Cybertronic Spree, Mega Ran, VGR,Schaffer the Darklord, and various others. As a producer, Mark has created 59 completed projects including work with Miz Korona, Fatt Father, Finale, Mega Ran, Crooked I, as well as spotlights and headlining ranks for MagFest, Magwest, Youmacon, Blerdcon, and a Times Square performance for Liberty City Anime Con.”

All this from a guy that did not get to finish a set at the Bull Frog. Today Mark finds himself holding down the role of a real life Power Ranger, doing voice over work for various anime projects, to producing scores for all types of media.

Featured music today "Green Light" is an energetic and catchy hip-hop/pop song that captures the essence of the fast-paced, high-intensity gameplay of the NBA (My Player Mode). The lyrics embody the spirit of determination, confidence, and the drive to succeed of 2k Players with the “Perfect Release”. The track's pulsating beats, dynamic instrumentation, and infectious melodies create an uplifting atmosphere that perfectly complements the intense gameplay and exhilarating moments in NBA 2K.

The type of Nerdcore I focus on is what I call “Nostalgic

rap”. My main topics dive into what I personally and many

others may have grown up with. So I think outside of that

"box" people say we're in but instead exists in everyone's

garage sale, comic shop, game consoles, DVD and VHS box

set, toy store, and even YouTube uploads from the past and

present.
